Sen: Jov: 23 December 1700

Martin Buhler, gardener from Strassburg, with his wife Aurelia and 6 children, namely Hans Jörg, Jacob Martin, Andreas, Margaretha, und Salome, was admitted and accepted as a citizen, therefore they, like other Strassburg residents who have come here, were granted some freedoms.

Religious or political reasons, it was often one or the other that caused people to move. In this case, both Heilbronn and Strassburg were free imperial cities in the Holy Roman Empire, so perhaps that is why the family retained "some freedoms."
