Maria Sponholtzin, Michael Zilges nachgelassene Wittwe, alt 65 J[ahr]. starb den 16ten Aprl an hitzigen Fieber, begraben den 18ten April.Translation:
Michael Zilges, farmer here, aged 64 years. Died April 14th of high fever. Buried April 13th
Maria Sponholtz, left-behind widow of Michael Zilges, aged 65 years. Died April 16th of high fever, buried April 18th.

Yes, probably something contagious. I've seen this many times with child siblings, but not so much spouses.
