Research Assistance in Hessen-Nassau, Preussen
First time posting, so apologies if I post too much/little.
I am researching Johann Schlaudt (K64L-854) and Katherine Konrad (2WHJ-KPN) who lived in Ötzingen in the early 1800's.
I found Family Search has records for Ötzingen, Leuterod, and Wirges, but they are only available on Microfilm, and I was told Family Search does not loan out Microfilm anymore. Additionally, some records are indexed, but I did extensive searching and did not find them in there. So I suspect the records I need are not yet indexed.
I went to Matricula, but they have not made these records available online yet either. I heard from a reliable source that they are working on the diocese records, but they are only up to towns starting with a K, and they are on hold right now due to technical issues, and they do not know when they will resume.
Since I am searching for early 1800's and late 1700's civil records are not a possibility since they were not maintained before the 1870's when Germany was unified.
I also have checked Ancestry and did not find anything there either.
I suspect I have hit a brick wall in my research, but wanted to see if there are any suggestions that I might have missed.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.
