1811 Conscription
Florian Riegert was born illegitimate, his records always list both of his parents - Katherina Ranweiler & Johann Riegert, although his parents never married.
Florian has his father's surname but is included in his maternal grandfather's family record in Böhmenkirch's church books. His father, Johann Riegert from the nearby town of Schnittlingen. I found Johann's birth record in Schnittlingen, but then he appears to have gone missing. I'm wondering why…and maybe have found the reason.
I came across a book on Google about conscription requirements in Württemberg in 1811. It looks like Johann Riegert, shoemaker from Schnittlingen, didn't show up for his required conscription. He was given a final notice of 4 months to show up or all of his property would been taken.
Here's a link to the book, page 286

My first question is - am I interpreting this correctly? I went to the page before, because it had more information.
Two - There is a long list of names, so it seems like this was a common practice. Obviously, this was during the Napoleonic Wars, so I understand many wouldn't have wanted to be involved.
Three - If you did avoid service, could you ever return home, or did you simply try to blend in elsewhere?
I know there is no way of knowing what really happened, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any insight on what may have happened or a book/wiki article etc…
Thank you for any information you can provide, I've learned so much from this group.
