Switching between familytree & group tree on different browser tabs
I keep having the problem that the tree gets switched to the group tree but the top of the screen still says I'm looking at a person profile on the familysearch tree. I think I've figured out what's going on. If I have a living persons profile page open on the familysearch tree and then do something in a different browser tab for a different person on my group tree, when I go back to the tab with the persons profile page that was on the familysearch tree and try to add a child or spouse, it's giving the menu as though I'm on their group tree profile but the top of the page still say it's their profile on familysearch. When I close out the add person box their profile is now showing that it's on the group tree. It's very frustrating, and seems like a bug to me.
But if it's that easy for familysearch to switch between trees for a person just by going to a different browser tab and coming back to the original tab, why can't I stay on that person and just switch the tree selected? Now if I do that it takes me back to my accounts person tree. That would be a nice enhancement.

The selection of your current tree is more persistent than what you see in a browser tab. It's not the same thing, but imagine that I have one tab open, logged into my account, looking at anything. Then on another tab, I log out and log in to my wife's account. When I return to that first tab, it may initially look like my data, but if I try to do anything, I'll quickly figure out that I'm not signed in to my account anymore — I'm on my wife's account. The selection of which tree I'm working is closer to that experience.
I can see why you might hope the tree selection was a more transient state, but it's not. I believe the concept is that you will choose a tree and that becomes your main workspace — you can't easily flip back and forth between trees in a session.

That is correct. You cannot be in two different trees within a single browser. The system wants you to be in a single tree. If you want to look at two different trees and compare them, you will need to open them in two different browsers…such as one in Chrome and one in Edge. The changing names of the Tree reflect that behavior, so you will need to be careful to know which tree you are actually in. Refreshing the page should help with that. We are continually working to improve this process, but having the various different connections to the FamilySearch Tree for all the deceased ancestors makes it harder to separate the trees entirely.

There have been some updates to the system. This should have been resolved in these recent updates. Please open a new post if you find further instances of this problem.
