Translation of french words in 1871 Letter

I have a couple of words I am struggling to translate in an old 1871 handwritten letter. I've manage to translate everything else using google translate but would appreciate help on the words underlined.

I will complete the "Community Images" instruction form for the image to be attached.

    hi, the words are : "détenus" means "prisoners"

    and "4 8bre dernier" means 4th of october 1871"
