'Meza' Surname in Germany (19th century)
Hello,
I've been trying to find some more information about my family from Germany (most records say Hanover, one Danzig), and one of my (3rd) great grandmother's names is Elana Meza (see first line on the right hand side of the page) .
Wondering if anyone has come across other Mezas from that time or know any information about them? Can't locate the exact town they are from, so I haven't been able to find any German records. Some websites have it as a Jewish surname but others Spanish/Slovenian so not sure.
