My wish list for the new linker
My biggest wish for the source linker both old and new is to let us know if we are about to create someone without a sex. It could be done very similar to how you warn us when we haven't specified if the person is living or deceased.
I would also like the ability to do some edits to existing information. The new source linker allows you to add things, which I am happy for, but sometimes a person already has a birthplace but no year, for example. And being allowed to add the year while I am thinking about it would really be nice. My memory is not what it used to be.
The new linker is large and often involves scrolling. And if my finger hits the wrong place, I find myself dragging someone instead of scrolling, which is a pain. Also it is exacerbated when dragging someone to the children and all of the siblings automatically open up.
Also in the new linker switching someone's parents or spouse is very awkward if it is possible at all. This is about the only reason left that I will switch back to the old linker to do work. What I can do there is simply not available YET in the new linker.
I want you to know, despite my complaints, I am happy with what you have. I have even gotten used to the new colors and buttons.
Thanks
Brent

Could I suggest something to the developers regarding the drag and drop? (It's been acting laggy on the computer I'm currently on, so I'm not positive how its intended to work.) If this hasn't been implemented yet, I would recommend waiting to expand the siblings, children, etc. until after it's been hovered over for a few seconds (most drag-and-drop programs already do this). If that's already been added, the delay may need to be increased, because it's not working to well.
Also, could you please look at eliminating as much lag as possible, especially when using the drag and drop? I'm sure everyone would be very grateful!

I agree that the drag and drop feature on the new source linker is "laggy". It is difficult to target the correct person line when moving the information and it constantly jumps to another location. Perhaps it has been made too sensitive. I have continued to try to stay with the new linker, but have reverted back several times when working on large families.
I appreciate the color change to purple tones when I hit the mark. It gives me a quick assurance I have placed the source correctly.
I am grateful for the edit feature. Many times there are spelling errors in the profile content which can now be quickly corrected. Thanks!

Drag and drop has been improved and should be working for most users.
Colors have been made more prominent, with a green check in the corner when a source is attached.
A new arrow makes it easier to see which records need to be attached.0
