Layout of profile pictures in portrait view in Beta
I'm not sure how the profiles are supposed to be displayed,,,,but this looks a little odd to me. Living children are not displayed in the same way that deceased people are in the public tree. This photo is showing children are on opposite sides of the generational line from their parents. I have gone out of the tree and come back in…. In Chrome Windows 10 1/4/24 at 3:27pm AEST

Yes, all of the other views or charts (fan, landscape, portrait…) are static. They open to a specified distance and spacing. The Sibling Tree isn't static, (you can't be if you have different number of children for each family!) So it works off a set of rules and shows the data according to those rules. It does show up in some unusual ways, however. Remember that opening behavior and rules are based off who is the main person in the tree. So try opening the same family branches when a different person is the main person and see how it behaves.
Also, I've edited your screenshot to hide information on living individuals. This is for privacy and safety per the Code of Conduct.

It must be a glitch in the system.
I clicked on myself with my children underneath. Then I clicked on my next sibling and the children crossed over under me and my children crossed over under my sibling.
I went back in to the portrait family and clicked on different sibling and the children came up in order. Then I clicked on me and my children were set under me correctly, with no cross lines.
So I'm confused what's going on there. It has nothing to do with fitting a certain number in the frame, it's about flipping children as pictured above to the opposite side. Sometimes they are appearing correctly and other times not.

These views are meant to be temporary and mobile. They make it easy to see the new information that your grandchild, cousin or spouse posted in the Family Group and its tree. This is just a different way to think of the tree, rather than the research that you are building on a particular person or family, you are watching for the information that each member of the group shares into the tree.
Remember, these are only the rules for showing the tree, they do not affect the actual relationships that you have created between the profiles. They are also not permanent placements. If you open your siblings' children, and then open your parents' siblings children and grandchildren, you will see all of them shift as you open each branch. If you open and close different branches, you will see them move differently. If children's branches cross over, try closing another branch of children and then reopening it. You will see that it will likely open to a different placement on the tree than it had previously been.

There have been a number of updates to this Portrait tree. If you have further issues with how profiles are showing, please start a new post in the Tree Pedigree Views group.
