Translation request, please: Johann Leppien death, Grevesműhlen, 1849
Johann Leppien, age 77, a day laborer from ??? (is that Warnow?) died 23 Nov 1849 and was buried 26 Nov 1849 from the Lutheran Church at Grevesműhlen. He is number 83 in the image below. I can read that his parents' names were not known (sigh). But I cannot make out his birthplace, where he was living when he died or what the cause of death was. I also don't know the word after his 77 years in the age column and what the meaning might be of the abbreviation in the right-hand margin. If someone could translate those items, I would be very grateful. Thank you, Barbara

Did you notice that in record 85 on the same page, the deceased is named Hans Joachim Leppien?

Thank you very much, Robert. I didn't notice Hans. Not a child of Johann, sadly. I will go back and check the Bössow register for Johann's baptism again. I have found him in the 1819 census now, so have an accurate (I hope) birthdate. I did find what appears to be a confirmation record for him there in 1786, so the timing is right for confirmation as he gave his birthdate as 23 Oct 1771. There are bits of his marriage record I'm struggling with, too, so I'll be back! Thank you again so much.
