Cant find record on Family Search that is on Ancestry
I cannot find the same record on FS that I have found in Ancestry.
Maybe its not here ? But I was looking for a record that I can find on Ancestry but not on Familysearch. I have tried for couple of hours but just cant find it. It is below. Can someone give me link to it if it is here. And possibly how you got there. If it is here. You should know that the Meaghers appear to have changed their name to Maher. But this was 1841 - to 1844.
But I don't think the name change has anything to do with my inability to find it. I have tried looking in the Irish records but just cant find it.
PS the father here is L1WB-25D I think.
Thank you, and regards.

Not every record that is on Ancestry is on FamilySearch. In particular, the Irish Roman Catholic registers are still in process of being indexed.
Remember, too, that even if it IS on FS, it will have been indexed separately, and the name may not be spelled the same in the index.
Also - FS does not have the images online, only an index. I see you are using Ancestry Library or Institution Edition. If you are looking for an image, you can access the images, free, on FindMyPast.com and on the NLI website. Left side, near the top: https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632689#page/24/mode/1up

Thank you for all the info. Adding the Ireland Library to my bag of tricks is a nice tip. The original I actually have from Ancestry. I admit that I dont use Findmypast much. But it looks like I should.
My point in wishing I could get it in FS is so that I can link it and possibly help the search engine in looking for information. I assume (always a mistake) that if i find it on FS and then link it that it goes into the engine and helps to find additional records. Perhaps erroneous thinking on my part?
Thanks again.

You can link from Ancestry, FindMyPast, or the NLI to the FS profile. Ancestry image will be behind a paywall, but FMP and NLI will be viewable. I do it all the time.

Ohhh. Well that's nice. Thank you again. Very helpful.
So just a thought, Graham B, said in another one of my pesky questions that the records, I think for Britain, (at least in the question I was asking at the time) came from Findmypast. When I look at Find my past, I can find this record I was looking for. I suppose only certain records come from FMP. Not the Irish records so far. I guess the summary of my thoughts are not all records that are in findmypast are in FS. So just because I find it in one you may not find it in the other.
Do you understand what Im saying?? Just trying to put things together in my head.

There are some cooperative agreements between/among the majors.
You will find, on both FindMyPast and Ancestry, records with a credit line showing that the record came from FamilySearch. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania records are an example, on FMP.
There are also records that are independently available on each of the sites. The Irish Roman Catholic registers are such a case. For the Irish RC records, FindMyPast and Ancestry cooperated on the indexing. FamilySearch is doing a separate indexing. The NLI originally did the microfilming but did not index. FMP links to NLI while Ancestry credits NLI.
You will also find records on MyHeritage with a credit line to FamilySearch.

@ColinM0288 Here is an article that shows how to attach source that are outside the Family Tree, in case you need it.
