Translation Request
Hello, my name is Tammi. I am new to your group. My family records are from Voitsberg, Styria, Austria. My translator from the Austria community group suggested I ask for help on some records that are proving challenging to translate.
The link below is the February 26, 1816 wedding record of Johann Hemmer vulgo Hemmercristi, age 19, to Anna Blimml, age 26, neither had been married prior. The residence is House #41 in Oberwald. From a previous limited translation, it seems that Johann needed consent to marry.
A translation of what it says below the groom and bride's name would be very helpful. Thank you!

Here is what I read for the groom:
Johann Hemmer des Christian Hemmer und der Maria Taubnerin ehelicher minorenner Sohn verehelicht mit ausdrücklicher Einwilligung des Anton _ach Gerhabers? und der Pupiller? Herrschaft Ligist
Translation:
Johann Hemmer, legitimate and underage son of Christian Hemmer and Maria Taubner, getting married with explicit consent of Anton _ach Gerhaber? and the Pupill? dominion Ligist
It is unclear to me what relation the people/authority giving the consent have with Johann Hemmer (maybe it is the guardian and the local administration because of him being underage)
Here is what I read for the bride:
Anna Blimmlin des Thomas Blimmel und der Anna Jangin ehel. Tochter
Translation:
Anna Blimmel, legitimate daughter of Thomas Blimmel and Anna Jang

Thodes has "Gerhaber" as Guardian and "Pupillaramt" as Orphan's Bureau. So even though the record doesn't say the parents are deceased it appears that he was an orphan and that his guardian and the office overseeing orphans needed to approve his marriage as a minor.

Thank you, both for this information. It is good to finally know what was written.

Hello, in my search for my ancestor Matheus Hemmer, born August 2, 1730 to parents Christian and Catharina Hemmer, I came across this record, which appears to be the death record of Matheus Hemmer dated August 22, 1730. The age looks like 3 weeks? Which would tie with his birth date. Thank you for translating.

Hello,
Would you agree that the surname Hömer is a possible variant of Hemmer? Another translator supported it, as the sounds written as ö and e are phonetically closely related.
The birth record of Christian Hemmer on page 293, in the link below, fits as far as the first names of the parents Peter and Catharina. The marriage Record of Christian Hemmer states his parents are Peter and Catharina Hemmer. I have also found six of Christian's siblings, however all of the surnames are spelled Hemer (or line over the "m") or Hemmer. In searching many records, I haven't come across any Hömer surnames. Although there is another of this spelling on the next page, 294, from the above link. Is this just a writer's preference?
Thank you for weighing in on this! Tammi

Spelling of names was less fixed in earlier times. So there is the possibility that Hömer and Hemer (which sound quite similar) may be used for the same. Hemmer with double m sounds different and would rather correspond to Hömmer.

Thank you so much for your help on this. I feel more confident in claiming this ancestor now.

Hello, and thank you for your translation again.
I am searching for the marriage record of Peter Hemmer and Catharina. My search started with this marriage book because the first child of the marriage was born on April 16, 1677.
The link below, on page 11, is a February? date? 1674 record. I believe I see Catharina (twice) in the second sentence and possibly Hemmer in the fourth sentence. Its looks like the German "H" for Hemmer and the line over the "m" which drew my eye. But it may not say Hemmer.
On page 21, of the same link, the second marriage record from the bottom, January date? 1675 appears to say Jacob Hemmer, but may be unrelated to this search. Perhaps the father's name comes first?
I am not hopeful that anything much can be read. Thank you for your efforts! Tammi
Here is a snip from the bottom of page 11.

The record on page 11 is for the widower Bärtl__(?) Trillurn and Catharina Hemmer (or Sommer?).
The record on page 21 is for the widower Jacob Hemmer and Elisabetha Lang(?).

Thank you! Not my couple but possibly related. Will set this information aside for now. Much appreciated!
