I am researching the Engle line from Alsace (the Eastern most edge of Alsace-Lorraine in France)
This Engle line merged with the Weimer Line when they came to America
They lived in Bedford or Bedford/Somerset County, in Pennsylvania, USA.
A friend in genealogy research sent me this death record written in French
. I would like to have it transcribed and translated.

hi, i would like to help you (i am french, my mother in law is from Alsace the east country of france)
i can't be able to read the document, it is in french but it is written probably by an old german man,
but at the end of the document, it written that is a translation of german. Alsace was sometimes french country and sometimes german ones, so, the first act was in german and perhaps it could be easier to read.
but if you want i can translate some words i am able to read.

The handwriting's quite difficult, but I was able to make out the location mentioned in the record: commune of Langensulzbach (French: Langensoultzbach), canton of Woerth sur Sauer, arrondissement of Wissembourg (German: Weissenburg), department of Bas-Rhin. Records from Bas-Rhin are available online at Department Archives of Bas-Rhin.

The record states:
In the year one thousand eight hundred and ten, on the fifteenth of January at eight o'clock in the morning, appeared before me, Jacques Bohli, mayor and civil official of the commune of Langensulzbach, canton Woerth sur Sauer, arrondissement of Wissembourg, department of Bas-Rhin: Jean Jacques Süss, age 56, and Chrétien Klein, age 45, both farmers in this commune, the first being a son of the deceased and the second being a nephew of the deceased, who declared that yesterday [i.e., 14 January 1810] at 11 o'clock, Marie Catherine born Weimer, daughter of the late Jean Martin Weimer and Anne Marie Eyer, and wife of Philippe Ludwig, died. According to her husband(?), she was age 77 years, 7 months, and 18 days [i.e., born about 27 May 1732]. The informants signed the present death certificate with me by interpretation into the German language.

The very first book in Langensoultzbach (image 183, https://archives.bas-rhin.fr/detail-document/ETAT-CIVIL-C258-P2-R169178#visio/page:ETAT-CIVIL-C258-P2-R169178-1190728) contains Marie Catherine Weimer's 27 May 1732 baptism record. That record lists her as the daughter of Hanß Martin (Jean--in the death record--is the French equivalent of Hans/Hanß /Jan/Johann/Johannes) and Anna Maria Eyer, so a perfect match.
