This is actually a normal birth record, but the parents couldn't make up their minds about the child's name at the time of birth, so where it says "and the child was given the name" it simply says "not yet." All the handwritten stuff in the left-hand margin repeats the printed record, but this time adds the child's name, because the parents finally decided - a week later - what to name the child.

Before the undersigned civil registrar appeared today, personally known, the midwife Mrs Brünke, Elisabetha, nee Norkowsky, resident of Stettin, Burscherstrasse 2, [blank] religion, and declared that Emma Marie Hedwig Isberner nee Ott, protestant religion, wife of the master tailor Johann Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Isberner, protestant religion, residing with her husband in Stettin, Louisenstrasse 25, in Stettin in the residence of her husband on 9 December in the year 1898, in the morning at 2 o'clock, gave birth to a male child, which received the name "not yet." The informant declared that she was present with Mrs. Isberner at the time of the delivery.
