Assenheim, Hessen - death in 1812 - Kopp family - transcription help
There is no URL, since the microfilm isn't digitized.
This is a death entry in the year 1812 (from Assenheim) for a Jacob Kopp, who I think is possibly the father of Anna Margaretha Kopp, baptized in 1783 in Assenheim (I posted her baptismal entry previously). In the baptism, it mentioned that the father Johann Jacob is a "citizen and carpenter" and the Jacob in this death record is a "local citizen and master carpenter", so the occupation and condition of citizen are the same in these two records.
I need a bit of help with my transcription of the death record (entry 12) to fill in the blanks, especially the age at death, so I can calculate a birth year and confirm that this Jacob would have been the right age to be the father of Anna Margaretha.
Any help is appreciated.
Debra

I could find life expectancy info back to 1871 for Germany Empire. See page 32 of 47:
https://www.nber.org/system/files/chapters/c7434/c7434.pdf
At birth a German boy had a life expectancy of 35 years. But keep in mind that that number is heavily impacted by infant and child mortality; it doesn't mean that a 30 year old German man would typically be dead in 5 years. If one lived through childhood, the life expectancy was considerably longer. The table on p 32 shows that at age 30 a German male's life expectancy was an additional 31 years. At age 60 the life expectancy was an additional 12 years.

Thank you very much Ulrich, for your additions to the transcription and translation, which are helpful!
As you explained, "The space for the age is left open", which I didn't notice (no wonder I couldn't see the age and thought it was written out as words). I just read the previous entry and can see that the number "44" for the person's age is there. Also, I can see that the characters I thought are letters are actually "curved brackets".
Even though Jacob's age is not mentioned, the reason given for his death i.e. "because of old age" is helpful. I'm not sure what "old age" means, since I don't know the life expectancy during the early 1800's in Germany. If I made a guess that Jacob Kopp (the father of Anna Margaretha) was in his mid-70's when he died in 1812, then when Anna Margaretha was born in 1783, he would have been in his mid-40's and probably was born during the 1730's. This is if I assume the two men named Jacob Kopp in the baptism and death entries are the same person.
Question: is the life expectancy known for men in the early 1800's in Germany. If yes, what would it be?

I would expect a man dying of "old age" to be at least 60 years old. As @JohnsonGreg writes low life expectancy in the past (which usually refers to the average expected life length at birth) did not preclude some people from living to age 70, 80, or even 90 years.

@JohnsonGreg and @Ulrich Neitzel, thank you to both of you. The info and explanations you shared are helpful!
As for the probable age of Jacob Kopp who lived past his childhood and early adulthood, I understand now that his life expectancy would be longer than the "average at birth" i.e. 35 years old. I agree that Jacob would likely be at least 60 years old when he died or even in his seventies. So I think the Jacob who died of old age is very likely the father in the baptismal entry of Anna Margaretha Kopp who was born in 1783.
