Christening records for Gorlitz, Germany
I'm new to German research. Are there any christening records available in Goerlitz Germany from the 1930's? Do privacy laws prevent them from being released?

German data privacy laws are stricter than ours. Generally speaking, the time frames are 110 years for birth, 80 years for marriage, and 30 years for death records. So unless you can prove a direct relation to the person for whom you're requesting a record, you'll have to wait another couple decades to get a birth record from the 1930s.
