Any Advice???
My ancestral village is Maxsain Westerwald, Unterwesterwaldkreis, Hessen-Nassau, Germany. Most of my ancestors came from there or nearby villages. I really need help in researching my roots there, online, because I can't go to Salt Lake City, Utah to find my ancestors, it's 515 miles away.
I am trying to find the Kirchenbuch (1662-1885) from Maxsain. My family in Maxsain are the Hummerich's (Alternatively spelled Humerich), the Dorn's, and the Schmidt's.
(I have been thinking about hiring an expert, but I don't have the time and money...)

Unfortunately, it looks like the earliest records are not available online at FamilySearch, but some records from the 1800s can be viewed at

@sylviaelchinger1 I have seen these records, I have read through the whole entire Maxsain and Quirnbach Kirchenbuchduplikat books.

I checked at Archion.de and they do not have the earlier records online either, nor does Ancestry. The Hessen State archives apparently have the earlier records, but also not online.

If you know specifics for the individual you are searching for, you could write to the archive and ask them to look it up for you. But this will probably take some time to get a response.
