Translaation help
Can someone please help me with the comments on this family register?
The one below the Hausvater I think says he went to America in 1847 (not sure why), cam back 7 Feb 1849, and returned to America 21 Jan 1852.
I think the note below the parents of the Hausvater have something to do with the illegitimate child of #17 Sophie Burkhardt.
Thanks for your help
Marcia

Hi,
Hope this answer is not too late and you have not reposted yet.
They don't give a reason why Joh. Christian Burkhardt traveled to America twice but they do say that when he went in 1847 he left his family behind.
About the illegitimate child of "no. 17" Marie Sophie it says his name was Gottlieb Friedrich, he was born on the 18 of May 1864. After that I read that he was released from the confederation in 1875 and emigrated in the US (in Dec. ?), where his mother, married name "Gall", had already earlier made her home in Philadelphia.
(One can actually find her in the 1870 census just with her husband, and in 1880 with her husband and son.)
Regards, Christine
