Help locating records for Freitag
Can someone please help me find any information about Ida Auguste Albertine Freitag. I only know she was 27 yrs old in 1861 when she married Christian Friedrich August Johnathan Retzlaff. I also only know of one child named Hermann Julius Eduard b. 1862 in Gienow, Regenwalde.
This is how the marriage record was translated for me:
Hausmann Christian Friedrich August Jonathan Retzlaff from Gienow, age 26, father gave verbal consent, married on 2 Apr. 1861 in Gienow to Ida Auguste Albertine Freitag, age 27, daughter of Luise Freitag married bricklayer Albrecht.
Christian was born in Alt Storkow, Saatzig.
I haven't been able to find anything about where she was from or her family
Thank you

Hi,
The website "Pommerscher Greif" shows a half-sister of Ida Auguste. This half-sister, Henriette Wilhelmine Albertine Albrecht, was born at Birkholz (Osiek Drawski), no. 2 (1841). The churchbook is on metryki.genbaza.pl. Maybe Luise Freitag possibly came from the area of Birkholz.

Gienow is in the district of Regenwalde, regional district of Stettin, and state of Pommern. See Meyergaz.org (based on the 1913 gazetteer and anchored to the 1892 German empire map). In 1913, this village had a population of 150 and was home to a Lutheran church. https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10568101
I used Kevan Hansen's Map Guide to German Parish Registers: Kingdom of Prussia - Province of Pomerania II, Regierungsbezirk Stettin..., p. 290-291, to triangulate the current location because this town is not anchored to the 1892 German empire map in Meyersgaz.org.
Today, Gienow is Ginawa. It is a village in Zachodniopomorskie, Poland, and home to about 185 people.
Because this town was historically part of the state of Pommern (aka Pomerania), the prior comment pointing to findings in https://www.pommerscher-greif.de is critically important.

Thank you both.
@hehesani63 - I'm not sure how to navigate that site. I entered birkholz and said:
Album content: Osiek Drawski_ew-Birkholz
no files in the selected directory
So I clicked on the 01_1831-1887 and just got a long list of image numbers. Is that the right place?

Hi,
What you write sounds perfect. Just go back to that page of Osiek Drawski_ew-Birkholz and click on "_033.jpg", which takes you to the correct page of the churchbook from 1841.
On metryki.genbaza they just list the all their scans one after the other and one has to look for the correct scan.
Good luck with your family research.
