Is "in" a surname extension like "er" in Liechtenstein records?
Is Catharina Frickin's name really Frick, like her husband Laurentius Quaderer (in some but not all records) is Quader?
Would Elisabetha Bekhin be Bekh?
Many thanks,
Elizabeth

The "in" suffix is added to surnames to denote a female and isn't really part of the surname. So Frickin should be recorded as Frick.
Sometimes when a surname ends in an "e," for example Eberle, the "e" is dropped before adding the "in," so it would appear as Eberlin rather than Eberlein. So your Bekhin could be Bekh or Bekhe. You'd have to find a male with that surname to be sure.

Quaderer is the official (today) spelling for a family of Schaan - so it's not Quader with an ...er as extension. I have never come across this extension. "...in" is common in all German speaking regions - still is colloquial, though not in documents 🙂.
Are you talking about Quader/Quaderer for the same person - or several persons of this family over time? Name spellings have changed over time - but if for the same person it would be interesting to see these examples.

Yes, entries for the same man are spelled both ways. Laurentius Quader and Catharina Frick(in) are the parents of nine children. The baptism records for the four daughters have Quader (1737, 1740, 1746, 1747, while the 5 sons have Quaderer (1741, 1744, 1751, 1752, 1756).
For his marriage to Catharina (1737), his name is spelled Quaderer.
Only 1 baptism displays for a search on Laurentius. In the possible/probable baptism record for him (1702), the surname is spelled Quaderer. For the supposed parents of Laurentius, Christophorus and wife Elisabetha BEKHIN, there are only two entries, one for Laurentius and one for another son, Christianus. Both have Christophorus' surname spelled Quaderer.
For a search on Christophorus, there are two additional entries: a Christoffel Quaderer (marriage 1686) and a Christophorus Quader married to a different woman (1685).
Unfortunately, no images are available, just indexed entries: "Liechtenstein Geburten und Taufen 1650-1875", , FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X5CY-9WR : 7 February 2020), Laurentius Quader in entry for Maria Elisabetha Quader, 1746.
Thank you very much for your help. I do appreciate you taking the time to help me.

Images should be available: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/2852.
You just cannot view them from home, but have to visit one of the Family Research Centres: never just trust indices (though useful to find where to look) - but always check the original records!
