question about a town of origin

I have tried to research what the exact name of a town is and am quite befuddled. Everytime I put Weida in the research wiki, it says "do you mean weimar" From everything I can see these are two different places. The standardized place I put in for my ancestors birthplace is Weida, Neustadt, Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. I'm not sure now. Please help me understand where I need to look for records.
