Translation help with word in sponsors column and cause of death for Edwin Jenkel
Hi,
Baptism record: Please help with translating the word in the sponsors column for Edwin Jenkel #2 baptism. I think it maybe a child who died shortly after birth. Looks like Jane Wallice? may have baptized him instead of the minister.
Death record: Please help with translating the cause of death. First death/burial in 1920 for Edwin Jenkel.

Hi Myke,
Birth record: the word is "Nothtaufe" = emergency baptism. Note: If the child was in danger of dying soon after birth, someone present at the birth would perform an emergency baptism, which appears to be the case here. And I too read the name as Jane Wallice.
Death record: Even though what is written in the "Cause of Death column" looks like three words, it might actually be "Leiden Geburt" = suffering birth, indicating the birth was difficult, which would explain why the child received an emergency baptism.
Let's see if another community member can help out with the cause of death.

I read the "cause of death" as Bei der Geburt = at birth.
