poem translation request
My grandmother's sister wrote a poem in German about a visit to her homeland of Latvia - in particular she went to Riga. I have an entire book about the visit that I can't read, however, I'm mostly interested in this poem at the moment as I'm creating my own family history book and would like to incorporate it. If someone could please translate it for me I would appreciate it!
Many thanks!

Hi,
Here a translation of the poem (I figured the top lines aren't part of it). I'm German, so I hope the English is okay.
All the best for your family history book.
Christine
Riga with its old buildings
that we now looked at in awe,
the cathedral and all the beautiful churches,
the many houses and the guilds
the opera and the Powder Tower.
And when I think about the countryside
in which I sank my gaze.
The meadows, fields, and woods.
And even the sweeping shores
with the beautiful white sand.
Thus I can hardly comprehend
that we had to leave all this
exchanging it with a foreign county
where we found rest and peace.
