Research in Maxsain, Unterwesterwaldkreis
I am currently attempting to research in a village called Maxsain, or Maxsayn according to Meyergazette. My family, the Hummrich family has origins in the village of Maxsain, just north of Nordhofen and Quirnbach, other ancestral towns. My ancestor was Wilhelm Henrich Hummrich and his wife, Eva Maria Dorn. They were most likely born c. 1760s, and I would love to find a source about them. Do you guys know how to access records in Maxsain, without travelling? I have tried searching records in Quirnbach, but those records only go to 1817. I hope to hear from you guys!

It appears that the Familysearch library in Salt Lake City, Utah has unindexed films of Maxain church records for that time period:

Unfortunately SLC is a thousand miles from me. I did a quick google search and there seems to be professional geneologists in SLC with German skills who could look up records for you. I have no idea what they would charge.

Do you have any ideas on how to get them onto FamilySearch? Is there a support center that could add them online or anything else? Hope to hear back, Sebastian

I think familysearch makes every film available online except for those with restrictions due to legal agreements with the owners of the records. From the info stated on the Maxain records list (attached above) it appears familysearch cannot make the records viewable in Europe. I doubt that they can make them viewable online only in the US.
The restriction might indicate that the records are available online by some organization in Germany but I cannot locate them.
