Translation & Transliteration Please - 1867 Baptism Witnesses -Robe, Greifenberg, Pommerania
Items #46 & #47
There is a two-word phrase, which appears in both of these records under the baptismal witnesses. The words appear in the second witness listed in both Item #46 and Item #47. It appears to me to read "___treten durch". I would very much appreciate a transliteration and translation of this phrase. My wild guess is that it means "by proxy." If so, it would be helpful to my further reading of these records to know the exact spelling in German. Thank you!
