First record:
12 February 1691: Joan Jörg Gies, the cook, with Margaretha Louisa Birbach at Hebron were blessed [in marriage].
Second record:
12 February 1691: Joan Jörg Gies, local cook, with Margaretha Louisa, Mr. Conrad Birbach's daughter, were at Herborn, and not here, legally married.
Comment: I am assuming that these two records came from different parishes, and the scribe in the second record recorded the marriage but made it clear that the marriage took place in Herborn.

Both Herborn and Greifenstein have their own Protestant parish churches. So the assumption would be that the marriage took place in the bride's home parish of Herborn and the groom came from Greifenstein.
Note that neither record identifies Joan Jörg Gies as a widower.

I don't know how to tell if they are from different parishes. They are both on Greifenstein films and there is only one parish listed on Meyers site. I have found quite a few records duplicated like this with varying info on the earlier years film and the one that follows in the next years sequence. Your thoughts or guidance?

Also I anticpated the record would have indicated Johan Jorg Gieß was a widower.
