Tracking down a German birth certificate
Hello,
I searched through the FamilySearch wiki but I am still pretty confused and lost on what location I am supposed to search under for a birth certificate for my great great grandfather. He was born in Rugen, Dreschevitz in 1866. According to my research, this certificate should be available to obtain (privacy wise) but just not sure where I should be looking. I realize it may not be online at this time

Dreschvitz/Rügen belonged to the lutheran parish of Samtens (https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/20672053). Baptism records of Samtens until 1839 are available online on FS (https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/208100?availability=Family%20History%20Library).
According to the genealogy website Pommerscher Greif the original church books are with the parish office in Gingst (https://www.pommerscher-greif.de/ortsuebersicht.html?userort=DREITZJO64PJ#HP, see 4. Kirchenbücher in Archiven). You may want to contact the parish office for an inquiry.
