I have been researching my ancestors from Austria and have had difficulty reading some of the old script. I am eager to decipher the cause of death of a female ancestor who died at age 36 in 1883 in Vienna shortly giving birth. This is a screenshot of her cause of death.

I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can provide. Thanks.

this is what I read: BauchfellentzDg; Bauchfellentzündung = peritonitis

Thank you! I guess this was written in the old Kurrent that I have a lot of trouble deciphering especially when writers do not have good penmanship.

By the way, I first tried putting this into an AI product called Transkribus that supposedly can decipher Kurrent written by hand. The software could not read what you could! So, AI still has lots of limitations.
