Clarification on a birth registration notation from 1840

In the following birth registration from 1840, the mother is unmarried and I don't think the father is named. In the notation on the side of the form, there are notes about the mother, Anna Catharina Trier and Johann Schmitz with dates. Is this a notation about a later marriage or something else? Your help is very appreciated!!!
