Need some details from my ggf baptism record

I have a baptismal record for one of my great-grandfathers, Gustav Adlof Werner. The document is pretty straight-forward, but there's some details I can't quite decipher. The larger document, for context:

The details I need are 1) What it was between "28" and "Mai" under the date of birth, 2) The word under "Werner August" - it's either a middle name, profession, or denomination (I'm pretty sure it's not a middle name, since none of August Werner's other records indicate a middle name), and 3) The names of the baptismal witnesses:

The words under 28 are simply 28 spelled out - acht und zwanzig. I can't make out the word under August, but I believe it's an occupation, based on the format of the record above it (Instmann = farmer).

The godparents are

1. Hoffmann Luise
2. Werner [can't read?]
3. Wans[-?-] Bertha

Hopefully someone else can make out the missing pieces for you.
