sgray2707202 talks of family bible EVIDENCE which could break down a brick wall for me.

"John Thom 1723 - about 1770, Ayrshire, Scotland"

"1. O.P.R. BIRTH RECORD - COYLTON, 583/1, FR.16. 2. NO SIGN OF HIS MARRIAGE IN O.P.R., AYRSHIRE. MARRIAGE KNOWN FROM FAMILY BIBLE. Last Changed: 27 August 2013"

sgray2707202's added note as you can see was from 2013 so sadly I suspect they are NOT around any more. I tried to send them a message but it failed. Familysearch suggest I contacted this site to see whether anyone had come across S Gray. They say "Unfortunately, this Contact ID has been carried forward from the old version of FamilySearch into our current model and no longer has any further details attached to it that are contactable. The contributor may still exist, but their reference would be something other than the "SGRAY2707202"

If anyone has any further ideas on how I might take this CONTACT issue any further forward I really would appreciate hearing from you. No other THOM researchers have been able to find an OPR record of a marriage between John Thom and a Mary Ried(Reid) c 1754. Their first child, also a John, was baptised in Coylton 5th January 1755. The family tenanted Pettock farm in Coylton Parish at that time.

I went into your record and each of John's children hoping maybe to find a puzzle piece, which you probably already have looked at. I also went into Ancestry as well as FindMyPast and I find no wife with the name of Mary Reid.

I have no idea how to contact this SGray except through the way you messaged him. He/She doesn't add a personal email, which is sad because if they do not check their notifications in FamilySearch, they will miss your message.

I did find this member on Ancestry but it doesn't look that hopeful. SGray272 is either not a DNA match or has not taken a DNA test. No visible tree either.
