GRO cost for a marriage certificate
I've recently ordered birth records from GRO. The very cost effective PDFs for £7. It's been a while since I ordered a marriage certificate. I live in the US. Am I reading this right? There are no PDFs and it is DHL delivery only for overseas. It appears to be £35! I know postage has gone up but...am I reading that right? I've tried to find alternate sources but If I've done my research right - there are no church records. I need to see the father of the bride. The marriage took place in 1886. Any suggestions? I have 1939 register. 1911, 1901, 1891, 1881. 1871 census. So I am pretty sure of the family group, but is it my family. A search of the GRO index shows a mother's maiden name of but Allen there are other Allen ladies having babies because there are 3 babies born in the right spot in 1902. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

There is no PDF service for marriages. I think if you want regular service by post it is £11. I have always used that option and it takes about 2 weeks. Expedited to the US is £35. At least, that is how I am reading it. I don't think it has changed but I haven't ordered for awhile.
If you want to give names, place and date, I'd be happy to be a second pair of eyes looking for parish records.

£11 is what I was remembering last time I ordered. But when I try to click on regular post it is grayed out. I typed the wrong name on the first post. Mixed up two families. In am looking for the marriage of Albert Stephen Lilly and Amy Harriet Allen GRO index 1886 JUN quarter. v. 6D p548. My Amy H.'s father was a silversmith. His name was John Allen. I'm trying to prove that the Amy Harriet marrying Albert Stephen Lilly is Amy H. the daughter of John Allen Silversmith. Amy H. Allen was born about 1865 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. Thanks for the second look!

I was able to add it to my cart for the £11. Maybe try a different browser. The registration district is Aston for the marriage. Do you know the specific parish in that district?
