Wyoming Delayed Birth Certificate
My grandmother was born in Cody Wyoming May 7, 1916. I have not been able to locate her birth certificate, even when contacting folks in Wyoming.
Her parents were farm/ranch workers. In the 1910 census, they were living in Missouri. 1920 census they were living in Southwest Montana. I do not know when they arrived or left the Cody Wyoming area.
I am "guessing" she might have had a delayed birth certificate, but I have not found where these might be found.
Thank you for any suggestions!
Barb

Hi Barb, The following is what I found. I hope this helps you.
Kind Regards,

Births after 1909
Wyoming statewide registration of births began in 1909. Currently, there are no online indexes to Wyoming births from 1909 to the present.
Obtain the Certificate
With full names, dates and places of an event, you can order a copy of the birth certificate for a fee from the Wyoming Department of Health. Certificates older than 100 years are held at the Wyoming State Archives
I don't know if you have tried contacting the the archives since she was born over 100 years ago.
Wyoming State Archives and Historical Department
Birth and Death Records
Statewide registration of births and deaths in Wyoming began in July 1909, and was generally complied with by 1922. Individuals who were born prior to 1909, or who for some reason did not have a birth certificate, could apply for a delayed birth certificate. The Wyoming Vital Records Services began keeping delayed birth certificates in the 1920s.
For copies of state birth (only past 100 years) and death records (only past 50 years) write to:
Vital Records Services
Hathaway Building
Cheyenne, WY 82002
Telephone: 307-777-7591
Fax: 307-635-4103
Internet: Wyoming Vital Statistics Services Program
The current fees for obtaining copies of the state's records are listed in Where to Write for Vital Records: Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Divorces. [1]Copies of this booklet are at the FamilySearch Library and at many FamilySearch Centers. You can also write to the Vital Records Services for current information.
Copies of the birth records from the last 100 years and death records from the last 50 years can only be released to those named on the certificate. You will also need to state your relationship to the individual and your purpose for obtaining the record. After those time periods, the records are transferred to the State Archives and they are then available to anyone.
More detail on obtaining certificates from the archives is available online at their website.
