last name abbreviation
I am posting two records with the last name of No with an accent over the 'o'. Is this an abbreviation of the last name? No is not a usual French last name. What would the rest of the name be? This is in the 1600's. Your help would be appreciated.

NO is a surname in France. Sometimes there is a circumflex accent on the O.
