Barbara Steinmann Bachofner illegitimate child translation
Please translate just the important parts of this court record. I would especially like to know if her husband, Hans Bachofner, is deceased and who is the father of the illegitimate daughter.

It would make it sooo much easier to read if the resolution were higher: do you have a copy with higher resolution?
I cannot speak for other people - but I am much more motivated if I am told more about the background of such documents: Which court/city? Year?
The place name I see is Oberbalm ... and if I read correctly Hans Bachofner has been absent for 6 years, with no information if he is still alive or not,

I thought that it doesn't say that he was dead, I couldn't find a death record for him either. It is in Oberbalm, Bern for 1816. She had 3 illegitimate children and this court record is for the first child. These are on CD rom available only at the Family History Library in Salt Lake and the quality of the records are not great. I wanted to find the fathers of these illegitimate children. As I have studied this more today, I see that the father's name is Anthon Grossenbacher from Hasli. As far as I can see, there is no mention that Hans Bachofner is dead. Thanks so much for confirming that Hans Bachofner does not appear to be dead. It helps to have another set of eyes.

OK – I have given it a try:
Hasli by Burgdorf einem Ehemann, wohnhaft bey der Neubrugg der K[irchgemeinde] Bremgarten;
Aprill Anna Maria getauft.
Do you know what happened to Anna Maria (and the other two illegitimate children) later: did the carry Bachofner, the mother’s married name, as surname?
Whether Hans Bachofner was alive in 1816 was not known then. If you don’t find a death notice – possibly because there is none – in which case he should have been declared missing at some stage: a court decision - but Bern is not my area of research, so I’m not familiar with the exact procedures there.
Barbara Steinmann claimed that Anthon Grossenbacher was Anna Maria’s father – however, whilst admitting intercourse, he stated that she was pregnant then already, likely fom a Joseph Eberhardt. As far as I understand, the Chorgericht didn’t come to a decision on this – which may be the reason that no father is mentioned in the baptismal register.
If you agree I would post the image also on https://www.geneal-forum.com/ and ask the helpful people there to check my transcription. Possibly someone there could also have ideas how to continue your research. For this I would like to include all known information on Hans Bachofner and Baraba Steinmann and their (her) children: could you provide this?
