Have you ever thought to look at the surrounding parishes to where your search is focused? Sometimes we may discount a record because it isn't in the same parish, but understanding the surrounding areas can help us see where sometimes, the different parish is actually very close to where we are looking. Check out the lists in the link below 😊.

A useful link, but I usually go directly to GENUKI, or enter the placename in Google, which nearly always produces a map, from which the surrounding places can be seen and distances (in miles - UK and US) found between them.
