Re: Need help translating the heirs of a 1768 probate record
I'm having difficulty translating the record for the heirs of a 1768 probate record of my ancestor, Joannes Jacobus Nussbaumer from Matzendorf, Solothurn, Switzerland (German language). He was married to Maria Barbara Eggenschwiler and I know he had the following children; Franciscus Josephus, b. 1736, Ana Maria, b. 1737, Josephus, b. 1740, Maria Elizabeth, b. 1742, Urs Joseph (my ancestor), b. 1744, m. Pleuger, Anna Maria Theresia, b. 1748, Susanna Barbara, b. 1751, Joannes Jacob, b. 1753. The heirs are listed on the bottom half of the record. The original record is very difficult to read, it is from a digitized film 8485243, image 500. I am attaching the bottom half of page 1 which listed the heirs.

Definitely tough to make out clearly. I wonder if the archive (the record is held by the Staatsarchiv Solothurn) could send you a clearer scan. This is what I see under "Erben Seynd" (heirs are):
- Jacob Nusbaumer der Sohn ...derjährig und daherr mit Jacob Egentschwyller des Gericht. assistirt ... = Jacob Nusbaumer [likely the one b. 1753] the son, of ? [likely minor] age, and assisted by Jacob Egentschwyller from the court.
- Anna Maria Nusbaumer mit ... Hubler von Watterswyll [likely Witterswil] verEhelichet. = Anna Maria Nusbaumer [likely the one b. 1737] , married to ... Hubler from Witterswil.
- Elisabeth Nusbaumer mit Hans Christen(?) Rudolff von Rohr(?) zur Egerckingen [Egerkingen] verheirathet. = Elisabeth Nusbaumer [likely the one b. 1742] , married in Egerkingen to Hans Christen(?) Rudolff from Rohr(?)
- Theresia und Barbara Nusbaumer ... döchter. So noch ledigen Stands ... = Theresia [likely the one b. 1748] and Barbara Nusbaumer [likely the one b. 1751] ... daughters, still unmarried...
- Barbara Egentschwyller die hinterlassene Wittib hierbey mit Joseph Egentschwyller des Gerichts Verbeystandet sch... Weißz(?). = Barbara Egentschwyller, the surviving widow, assisted by Joseph Egentschwyller of the court ...
That means the following children of Joannes Jacobus likely died before him:
- Franciscus Josephus b. 1736
- Josephus b. 1740
- Maria Elisabeth b. 1742
- Urs Joseph b. 1744; he's your ancestor--did he die before 1768?

Thanks so much Charlotte for your help on this and helping me in SL. My ancestor was Urs Joseph and he died long after 1768. Jacobus had a brother who also had a Urs Joseph born about same time. This means I’m a descendant of his brother. His brothers probate record was about the same time and is listed in index but was not filmed. There were some records that must have been destroyed says water damage at first of records.

I did find the marriage record of Hans Christian Rudolf Von Rohr and Elizabeth Nussbaumer, 5 Jul 1762 in Egerkingen. Can I have help translating this marriage record. I've attached the entire ledger, it is 8126364 Image 686 of 1320, but I just need help with this specific marriage record, especially the second column. Thanks so much-Ron Wiser
