Hi again! Trying to find family I don't know... :)
I only have an adoption paper stating about my 8 other brothers and sisters, and where I was born, BC.... that's it ... I'd love to find them before my time runs out....just wondering where to start?I know my biological first and last name, before I was adopted at 4. ... ty

Where were you adopted? What state/country? (Does BC mean British Columbia?)
Do you have names for your siblings?
Have you taken a DNA test?
It helps to share additional details so that we know what we can work with, and can suggest ways specific to your case. We have some great people in this Community, that really do love to help. We have found several family members and we are always looking for more.

it says you have 8 siblings or does it specifically name them? Do you know the birth date and location of all births including your own?

Hi No names... just the mom and dad's.. and the exceptional fact that I have 8 brothers and sisters! It was in B.C. .. Grace Hospital I think... and my real names before the adoption, and where ... Oh! I think our biological father ran an auto glass business in Vancouver, under his last name... but that's about all I have.. thanks for asking

With that many siblings, I for sure would do the Ancestry DNA test. Someone in the family has likely tested and then you can make a connection. My youngest brother was adopted, he found his Biological father using Ancestry DNA also unknown to both of them twin half brothers! After learning so little information on the mother from the father, I separated the DNA into those who matched the father and those who did not, and was able to find relatives of the mother and we found out who she is as well.

Anthea, adoption records are open in Ontario. Is this how you determined your parents names?https://www.mcss.gov.on.ca/en/mcss/programs/community/records/index.aspx
Have you registered on any adoption registries for the area where you were born?

Your adoption records are from where you were adopted, not from where you were born.

You know I find that I make funny mistakes quite frequently. I think that we all do as we work to process a lot of information. This was a simple mistake for you to make. Please let us know what you find out when you make contact.
