I wish to find info of travel by Johan Emil GREN b.14/02/1885
My father emigrated from Helsinki, Finland in 1910 and travelled (how I do not know) to Germany where he embarked a passenger vessel in Hamburg (maybe Bremen) and took passage to Buenos Aires, Argentina enroute to the Colonia Finlandesa in Missiones, Argentina. I am seeking records (passenger lists) that would confirm this portion of his voyage.
Thanks, JE GREEN

Thank you for your question. It has been referred to a specialist. Our experts have been preparing presentations for this weekend’s genealogy event this week, so it may take some time to respond.

Dear JE GREEN,
We found the information below here in FamilySearch. Is this person your father?
Johann Emil Gren • G3XY-RS5
b. 14 February 1885 – 1 August 1981
This more detailed information would make the search for records easier.

We found Johann Emil Gren in a finnish passport register from 1910, his occupation was police officer.
According to this information we found him in a Hamburger Passenger list:
He came from Helingfors, Finland and his departure from Hamburg, Germany was 13 Oct 1910. The ship name was "König Friedrich August". More information you will find by clicking the link below:
Another police officer, Henrik Holmström, also traveled with him, which might interest you.
It may be helpful for you to add this links to your fathers person page in FamilySearch under sources.
Please let us know if you need further help.

The information provided did answer my original query......received with thanks.
I do have a further request in tracing my father's travels having determined his journey to Argentina, I now would like to establish how he departed Argentina. I have found thru Ellis Island info that he arrived in New York from Southampton on 12 March 1914 and then made his way by rail to Saskatchewan, Canada. My information is that he departed Argentina early in 1914 from Buenos Aires and presumably sailed to England to tranship to New York . Thus I seek info related to the ocean voyage from Buenos Aires to Southampton, England.
Many thanks for any assistance that can be provided.
JE GREEN
