Yes, your "Kurschmied" was correct.
I use the following book as my main source for translation:
Ernest Thode, German-English Genealogical Dictionary, (Baltimore: Genealogical Pub. Co., 1992).
Thode translates "Kurschmied" as: blacksmith; farrier.
