The attached index for Ingelmunster, West Vlaanderen, Belgium lists the death of Dominicus Vanhaverbeke, married to Judoca Geernaert. However, I have been unable to find the actual record. I read the date of death as June 1, 1779 and the page

for the record as 492, which would make sense as the 1778 deaths end on page 486 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89Q2-69SG-M?i=171&cat=2204134). When I move on the the film for 1779-1797, the page numbers start at 2. Can you help me find this death record? Thanks!

Maybe I am missing something, but I do not see page 492. I see 252. Look on that page.

The year, btw, is 1775, not 1779.

I am glad we got that sorted out. Of course, the numbers were difficult to interpret and caused confusion. Posting the actual register was more than helpful. So, we learned that a 2 can look like a 4 and 5 looks like a 9. Another one to watch out for is 8, which sometimes lies on its side and has open loops. It doesn't look like anything else.

In any event, I am glad you posted on this site and got what you were looking for.
