Frankfurt on the Oder research mid 19th Century.
I am looking for ANY German records for my great grandparents who, according to American records and family lore are said to lived in Frankfurt on the Oder in the mid 1800s.. Any guidance appreciated.
Otto F Reiche, born 21 November 1859. wife Louise Reiche born Louise Schieschke? 3 March 1865. Married about 1886? Otto was said to be a locksmith. Son Max Reiche born 20 October 1887. Emigrated May 1888 from Antwerp to Philadelphia on Vaderland. Bound for Carpentersville, Illinois.

@LehmanJohn We are so glad you have joined our German community - It is a great place to get help and to help others! We have a lot of talented, experienced participants here.
I will mark my response as a rejected answer because it only gives you some tips, not an answer to your question - then this will continue showing as an unanswered question and it should get more attention that way.
Be sure to review the links at the top of our community page for some great resources. We look forward to hearing from you. We are so glad you are part of this great community!
Thanks for being patient as we sometimes must wait for a response to come from a volunteer with the needed skill set. It is always good if you include the identification number of the person in question in Family Search Family Tree so we can see the bigger picture.
We look forward to your comments and questions.
Enjoy today! Cindy Jarvis
