September 1, 1901, my Swedish great grandmother, Kerstin Wahlberg Ehrob died in Chihuahua. Unable to find a copy of the special permit for interment in the Campo Santo de la Regla. Where can I locate a copy of this permit?

Kerstin Wahlberg Ehrob's husband was employed in Chihuahua. If possible, I would like to find out the name of the company that August Julius Ehrob worked for. I will attach Kerstin's death record as well as her obituary.

Obituary from the "Chihuahua Enterprise" newspaper (The International Advertiser) dated Saturday, September 7, 1901, Vol. VII, No. 6.

Sad Death

The many friends of Mrs. Kerstine Ehrob, wife of A.J. Ehrob, of this city, were grieved to learn of her death which occurred at 6:30 o'clock on Sunday morning.

Mr. Ehrob holds a high position with the company Industrial and brought his family to reside in Chihuahua nearly a year ago. Mrs. Ehrob has been suffering with nervousness for a number of years, and also an affection of the stomach, which caused her great agony. On Saturday night last she suffered severely and was relieved by opiates for a time. Toward morning, however, she grew worse and died at half past six.

The funeral took place on Monday from the one at 202 Calle Aldama, and was largely attended by members of the American colony. A special permit was secured by which interment was permitted in the Campo Santo de la Regla, where the services were held, Dr. Eaton officiating. The deceased leaves a husband three children. One daughter lives here with her father and a son and daughter left for Chicago to attend school.

Norma Trejo Huerta - Actually, I did contact the site you have suggested - and I did that in 2012. No response.

In 2015 - I also sent a letter to the U.S. Consulate General, Paseo de la Victoriaa #3650, Fracc. Partido Senecu, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico C.P. 32543. No response.

I can't drive to these places! I live in Michigan. I am dependent on people who can help at these locations! Thank you all for your help. Maybe this third time will work! Leslie

"Panteon de la Regla Fosa 239" It means Grave 239.

"Derechos cuarenta pesos " It means 40 pesos. That was a lot of money in 1901.

Since 1884, the municipal authority decided not give permission for more burials because there were almost no more space. But they gave special permits for the upper class, politicians or rich people. Later, in 1919, they give no more permits. In 1957, the municipal authority decided transform the whole area in a Park. a public garden. They offered to the descendants move the remains to a new place called Cementerio Municipal, if the families didn't have the money to do so they would receive monetary help from the municipio. Unfortunately if no family member claim the remains, the authority would decide what to do with such remains.

In my opinion it is dificult to trace this, and I don't konw if any kind record was kept.

We know thay A.J. Ehrob was a chemist. If he worked in Chihuahua City, in that time, there were several companies in diferent fields like mines, flour, brewery, textile and others.

The owner of most of them was a man whose name was Enrique C. Creel who also had interests in banks, farming and livestock. If you have an idea of the area in which A. J. Ehrob as chemist was involved maybe we can find the name of the company.
