Hello all,
I am trying to find information on the gentleman in the title. We know he was with the 14th Air Force in China during WW2 as a Group Intelligence Captain. After the war he became a significant figure in the advertising world back in America.
I am very interested in his WW2 information though as the official records were destroyed in a fire. Any help at all regarding his WW2 service would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks in advance
The following is from http://iagenweb.org/wwii/WWIICountyIndex/Story/Story_Ga.html
"John Willard Garberson was born Dec. 12, 1916 to Lucius Dayton and Leona Blanche Modisett Garberson. He died May 17, 1984 and is buried in Crystal Peak Cemetery, Verdi, NV.
"Major Garberson served in World War II with the U.S. Army as group Intelligence Officer with the Flying Tigers of the famed 23rd, oldest of China Theater fighter units.

No documentation is provided and the website for the 14th Air Force does not list his name among the men who served in the 23rd Fighter Group. However, the listing is incomplete.
A search on Ancestry.com returns a number of newspaper articles about him. If you are still looking for information on him, it might be worthwhile to check it out.
