thank u, i know that the names vas and israel nunes are connected to this family. i am trying to figure out if the other record i posted is his brother or father, so his own age is of interest as well.

Joseph alvares is 35 yrs, and was a merchant (coopman) and Benvenidas age was 15 . Also i can read 'his brother lives,…(?) unclear , but this confirm he has a brother.The rest is difficult to read,but seems unimportant.Also, this is not a marriage-certificate, but an official public made intention to marry, this declaration was to be done 3 times.

thank u so much. i was aware that this is an announcement of betrothal. u had said earlier that noenes was already part of his name also ? i may have misunderstood. i was aware that this family used israel nunes as an alternative name, but was wondering if it started w this marriage.

@ri48 The name Noenes(Nunez) is already in the name in the announcement, so must be earlier on.These are Jewish names and registers mainly,so many of related material volume could be online.
