if i'm not sure when someone was born, died or lived in a place, why can't i see everything for that place — say all of vermont — instead of figuring out whether it was in territory claimed by land grants, or the years of the vermont free state, or after it became a state etc. the pulldowns just overcomplicate searches.
the old "drilling deeper" catalogue was so much easier to navigate. can't we have a choice of the two?
