Problem with "The death happened before a residence."
Having a problem with "The death happened before a residence" The problem I am having is that it is true the death occurred after date of residence however, the residence information came from the obituary which was written after the date of death.
In this case date of death was 6 July. The obituary is dated 7 July thus it put the residence date as 7 July. Do I need to change the date of the residence or leave it as the source states it to correct the conflict?

I'd leave it as is and dismiss the alert: yes, such discrepancies can be errors, but in this case, it's not.

Personally, I have never read an obituary that reports where the deceased was living the day the obituary was published. Therefore, I would not dismiss the alert but rather improve the profile using one of three options.
You could ignore the goofy indexing and change the residence information to what the obituary is actually reporting, that is, where the person lived on the day that he or she died and correct the date to be the date of death.
Since changing the date to the date of death will generally make the residence entry identical to the death information under Vitals, you could just delete the event.
The third option would be to delete the Residence event and create a Custom event with the title Obituary Published and enter the date of publication and for the place put the name of the newspaper and its location.
