zef in Polish) Wojcieszek and Catharina (Katarzyna) born Barć, a farmer from Nowa Wies, and of a maiden, Catharina (Katarzyna in Polish) Półchłopek, age 17, daughter of Josephus (Józef in Polish) Półchłopek and Sophia (Zofia in Polish), born Wajda, farmers. Witnesses: Karol Duda, a farmer, and Jan Zięba, a farmer.
1st Note: I signed below, father of my underage daughter, Katarzyna, give permission for her marriage with Franciszek Wojcieszek, and sign with a cross. Józef Półchłopek, father.
2nd Note: Oral testimony and copy of baptismal record from Parish Czudec, dated 22nd November 1895, Birth Record No. 176. Marriage Banns published No. 178. 25th November 1895.
Please note the following:
It is not written in this record that the groom is a legitimate son, but it can be assumed, since he is son of two parents. Translating this record we cannot add “legitimate son.”
House No. 10 is for the groom only.
Hort. e Nowawies – it is the style of those records that hort. = a farmer refers to the groom, who is from Nowawies (Nowa Wies).
It is not written in this record that the bride is legitimate, she is legitimate as two parents are listed, but translating, we cannot add this information.
In this case, hort. refers to parents of Catharina, as she is not a farmer, she is daughter of a farmer.
Please note that names of witnesses are written in Polish, and we do not need to translate them into Latin.
Zagrodnik is a farmer with a small piece of land. We can just state that he is a farmer.
