How to find records in Italy between 1860 and 1934?

I am trying to find a marriage in the area of Apice, Benevento, Italy around 1879. There is nothing listed for that year on the Antenati site. Is there anywhere else online I can look? Do I have to write to the church in Apice and what is the right way to do that? Thank you, Carrie Taylor

All of the state archive copies of marriages and deaths for Benevento province between 1860 and 1934 are missing. The comune of Apice should have its original copies of the civil records so you can contact them, or you can try contacting the chiesa matrice, Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo.

Carrie, I've had very good luck using ChatGPT to write letters in Italian. Just tell ChatGPT who to write to and what you want in plain English, and tell it to write the letter in Italian. If it gives you an address, double-check it using Google.
