Widget Layout on new Homepage
I was wondering if there will be the option to arrange the widgets on the homepage, or will they remain as they are now presently seen?

I Love Love the new layout. I have a large family, and seeing such a large newsfeed wasn't enjoyable. I couldn't see what I wanted or needed. THANK YOU for the change. It looks great and is easy to navigate.

I agree! It's so nice not having to scroll through a huge feed (as it loads, too) to get to the bottom. And yes, being able to reorder the widgets would be great! 🤞
Overall, liking the progress!

It is nice (and appropriate) to have the temple ordinances front and center. I'm glad we can still get to the old style page for recent memories. See discussion

So ecstatic to see the new design and no longer that humongous section that, while great for those who want to see stuff posted to Memories of their ancestors, for us grind-driven researchers, was a waste of space and major distraction. My cousin loved seeing the photos and such there. But I had hoped to see the sections that I accessed most often—Recent Individuals, etc. I love the new widget format—with the understanding (from a previous comment/response) that they will eventually be movable/customizable (which is what the purpose of widgets are). Love seeing these changes and that I no longer have to scroll through endless memory images to reach what I want to access. You'll are doing a great job! Now, if you could eliminate the extra clicks needed for logging in, that would be great. I'd like to see the home page default to one's oft-chosen sign-in option based on cookies/preferences saved. So, if you could add that to your design list, I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd be grateful! Thanks for all you're doing!! :-D

I personally would prefer "Recently Viewed" to be the first widget as I spend many hours doing research. When I log in, I want to go directly to where I left off.

Thank you for your feedback @YColeman and your suggestion. For now, the "Temple" widget is at the top and the "Recently Viewed" is right underneath it. Stay tuned for any future developments on possibly being able to arrange the widgets on your page, although not available right now.

I love how the new home screen is streamlined and uncluttered, and second (third? fourth?) the request for re-arrangeable widgets. Many recent discussions on the new home page are along the lines of “the old home screen made (x) feature quick and easy to access, and the new home screen makes it harder to access.” And, the features in question have quite a lot of range. Having re-arrangeable widgets would let everyone put the features most important to them front and center, addressing a lot of varying needs at once.
I agree with the above comment that having temple ordinances front and center is a really good idea. One option could be to have temple ordinances at the top of the page, then re-arrangeable widgets underneath?
With all that said, I’m sure the coding and website design behind re-arrangeable widgets is quite a lot, so I totally understand if the topic of re-arrangeable widgets is set aside till other home page considerations are addressed.
Thank you for all that you do!

I too would like to have rearrangeable widgets. On our personal church account pages we have the ability to select what widgets we have on our page and in what order we would like them. I would like to see the new page something like that, where we could select which widgets we would like to immediately see and in what order it is to be seen. For me, I would like a quick link to My Reservations rather than have to go through ordinances ready to get there. Also look for the Family Group link seems now to be buried and difficult to find. I am exited for the new look of the home page and appreciate all the work you are doing to update it. Thanks. Shauna Lund

I really like the new layout. It is so organized! It feels calmer, simpler and easier to find things. Are the widgets arranged the same for everyone? Or is based on my usage of the website?

Thanks @Jessica M Gall - The arrangement is the same for everyone however you may or may not have exactly the same widgets depending on information in your tree.

Having the option to re-order the items on the page would be great.

I love the new page - if I could put a plug in to get the "to do list" able to be moved - it being at the bottom of the page I forget to use it. I'm sure others have the same issue!

Thanks for the feedback @Concetta Phillipps -several have asked about removable and collapsible widgets and we have made a note of this request. Stay tuned for future updates!

My first thought was, "Wow! Where did everything go?" However, I love the layout. I like not having to scroll to see my most recent research. The items that populate on the Home Page are not excessive. Good job!

Love the Widgets! How do we add a widget back once we have deleted it from homepage?

The emphasis on ordinances is great, but there are 2 'ordinance ready' widgets on the top of the page next to each other and then a 'temple hints' widget right below 'recently viewed'.
That seems a bit confusing to load up 3 widgets that are nearly the same out of the top 4 or 5. I realize that 'Ordinance Ready' and 'Temple Hints' are not exactly the same, but it's not obvious what is different about them from this screen.
Also it would be nice if there weren't so many different fonts and font styles. Just a quick visual scan and I think I see 5 different fonts and then a lot of inconsistencies in font size, bold, and capitalizing. For example, why aren't the fonts and bolding for people's names in the 'recently viewed' and the 'temple hints' the same? And why aren't the reddish and blue icons next to the names the same?
And there are 2 completely different buttons: 'SELECT ORDINANCE' and 'RESERVE NAME' that both go to the same Ordinance Ready screen. It would be much less confusing if the buttons were identical (as well as the wording and picture).

Thanks for your feedback @Petersen, Tina Marie - As far as I can tell, you can only collapse a widget (not delete a widget). Are you asking what you do to get a widget if you do not see it on your home page?

Thanks for this feedback @JeffLuke! I agree it is a bit confusing for 3 links to go to he same page and I had the same experience as you did. We will make a note of this for the engineers as well as the font issues. Thanks for your patience!

Please take a clue from the most recent Person page redesign, which also had multiple praises/complaints for the changes to its (originally) one-size-fits-all layout. The result was the "My Layout Settings" feature which allows each user to customize the page to their preferences. This is EXACTLY what the Home page should have:
1) one or two column layout (as permitted by the device size)
2) ordering of widgets
3) high-contrast mode
4) EVERY widget should be collapsible. Since there is no option to remove a widget, there should probably be an option as to whether the default state of a particular widget is expanded or collapsed.
5) EVERY widget should have a title (including the "FYI slides" widget)
6) EVERY widget should have a (i) icon ("information" icon) with a pop-up explanation of what the widget displays and what it can do.
7) the memories "Family Feed" should be one of the available widgets. In the former home page, MANY people liked having it show at login the various "surprise entries" made my their cousins. However, it should be a <scrollable> widget that only takes up the space of a single image, rather than "dominating" the entire page like the previous version. And then it should have a link to the full Family Feed page.Additionally, the new Home page should have a temporary (while users are becoming acquainted with the new format) widget at the top entitled "Using the new Home Page" with an explanation of all the options of the new page, how to customize and where features of the old page have "disappeared".
